How do we deem our
outlying clinics as business so that they are not inspected by TJC?
Depending
on time availability, TJC surveyors will randomly choose one or more clinics to
visit. They typically choose the busiest, largest or the closest. They will
usually look for typical clinical and safety issues. They will not survey for
compliance with the Life Safety Code® but will generally ask for documentation
showing that at least one fire drill per year and one Emergency Operations Plan
exercise has been performed per year.
