PM Documentation

For PM documentation within our Documentation for Administrative Surveyor, how much do you suggest we show a surveyor in these books for daily, weekly, monthly, etc?

TJC doesn’t prescribe a particular structure or specify any particular number of books nor do they tell you how much documentation has to be maintained. My suggestion is to have at least two sets of records or documentation that can be retrieved at any time. Perhaps one can be electronic and the other a hard copy just in case something happens to the electronic records. There should be more than one person who can retrieve any of these records, especially at the time of survey. One thing that has occurred at some hospitals is the person who knows where everything is might not be available at the time of survey, i.e., they might be on vacation or out with illness, etc. Trying to keep daily, weekly, and monthly records in five books sounds like overkill to me. Electronic records are probably the best way to go as long as they can be retrieved immediately if requested to do so by a surveyor, inspector, or some other AHJ.
