Does a clean utility room require local exhaust fans? I thought soiled utility rooms were the only rooms requiring exhaust fans to make the room negative.
Per the 2001 AIA Guidelines, clean workrooms, clean holding rooms, sterile storage rooms, and clean linen storage rooms all need “positive pressure.” A clean utility room does not require local exhaust. Someone may have confused that room with a soiled or decontamination room that does require “negative pressure.”
